New fireplaces and/or exhaust systems must be inspected and approved by the responsible district chimney sweep before they are put into operation. Any changes to existing fireplaces and/or exhaust systems must be reported to the responsible district chimney sweep.

The district chimney sweep is responsible for so-called sovereign tasks such as
  • the acceptance of new combustion plants,
  • the fireplace inspection and the preparation of the fireplace certificate
  • keeping the sweeping log
Each address has a district chimney sweep assigned to it. If you need one of these tasks carried out at your address, you must commission the assigned district chimney sweep.
