Anyone who has reached the age of 65 is entitled to basic security benefits. This only applies to people who were born before January 1st, 1947. For people born after December 31, 1946, the age limit will be increased as follows:
- for those born in 1947 there is an increase by 1 month to reach the age of 65 years and 1 month;
- for those born in 1948, 65 years and 2 months;
- 1949 65 years and 3 months;
- 1950 65 years and 4 months;
- 1951 65 years and 5 months;
- 1952 65 years and 6 months;
- 1953 65 years and 7 months;
- 1954 65 years and 8 months;
- 1955 65 years and 9 months;
- 1956 65 years and 10 months;
- 1957 65 years and 11 months;
- 1958 66 years;
- 1959 66 years and 2 months;
- 1960 66 years and 4 months;
- 1961 66 years and 6 months;
- 1962 66 years and 8 months;
- 1963 66 years and 10 months;
- from 1964 67 years.
Anyone who has reached the age of 18 and is fully incapacitated regardless of the respective labor market situation is also entitled, i.e. can work less than 3 hours a day AND who is unlikely to be able to remedy this incapacity. A permanent reduction in earning capacity is determined by the relevant pension insurance agency.
Anyone who is classified as permanently and fully disabled by the specialist committee of a workshop for disabled people (work area) is also entitled to basic security benefits, regardless of age.
New from 2020:
If social assistance benefits to secure livelihoods are granted in addition to outpatient integration assistance (EGH) benefits, the beneficiary will receive these two benefits from different departments from 2020 onwards. The EGH benefit notification is issued centrally by the Integration Assistance Office in the Wandsbek district (W / EH) and the notification on social assistance benefits is issued by the responsible social welfare office in the district.
New from 2020:
