All people who work with food of animal origin and in communal catering facilities require instruction in accordance with Section 43 of the Infection Protection Act (formerly a health certificate). The certificate from the health department is valid for life. People who work with food must be instructed by their employer on the first working day and then regularly every 2 years about hygiene regulations. When changing jobs, the instruction certificate must be presented to the new employer.
Persons who have not yet reached the age of 16 must bring either a legal guardian or another authorized person of legal age to this instruction. This person must identify themselves with a power of attorney and personal document on the day of the instruction.
In the case of persons who have not yet reached the age of 18, a written declaration in accordance with § 43 IfSG must be submitted by the persons with custody on the day of the instruction.

The issuing of a duplicate copy (fee: EUR 13.50) is possible under certain conditions. These must be clarified on site.

An instruction takes about 20-30 minutes (film length) + waiting time. The health certificate will then be issued.
The district office Eimsbüttel is responsible for all districts in Hamburg.
Personal appearance is required in any case.
Individuals have the option of booking an appointment online for initial instruction in accordance with Section 43 of the Infection Protection Act (see above: "Book an appointment" button).
