The Free State of Bavaria supports the providers of private schools for the sick with regard to their material and personnel costs. The allocation of state personnel is also possible.
Purpose
The operation of private schools for the sick is to be ensured through adequate funding.
Object
The Free State of Bavaria reimburses the providers of private schools for the sick for the necessary school expenses (ongoing and one-off school expenses).
In addition, the Free State of Bavaria reimburses the necessary personnel costs in accordance with Art. 33 of the Bavarian School Financing Act or provides private schools for the sick with personnel.

Type and amount
The Free State of Bavaria reimburses 80% of the school costs in accordance with Art. 34 of the Bavarian School Financing Act. Under certain conditions, the providers of private schools for the sick receive improved state funding in accordance with Art. 34a BaySchFG. In this case, the subsidy amounts to 100%.
- Proof of compliance with public procurement regulations, if applicable
(e.g. submission of the public tender)
- in principle: relevant books, supporting documents and other records
(unless the government makes a local determination).
Grants for school expenses:
- Non-profit status (Art. 29 Bavarian School Financing Act - BaySchFG)
- State approval of the school (according to Art. 92 ff. Bavarian law on education and teaching - BayEUG)
- further requirements according to §§ 15 ff. Ordinance on the Implementation of the Bavarian School Financing Act (AVBaySchFG)
- for school transportation: compliance with §§ 2 f. Pupil Transportation Ordinance (SchBefV); costs of pupil transportation may not exceed the amount for residential accommodation
Requirements for improved funding in accordance with Art. 34a Para. 1 Sentence 1 No. 2 BaySchFG:
- Participation of the school authority in procedures for school-related budgeting of school expenses
- Enabling all pupils to attend school free of charge within the meaning of Section 2 of the Hospital School Regulations (KraSO)
- Application of the regulations on the admission and dismissal of pupils applicable to corresponding public schools
- Waiver of reservation of consent pursuant to Art. 43 para. 4 sentence 2 half-sentence 2 BayEUG
- Early dismissal of a pupil only in agreement with the school supervisory authority
- Existence of the school for at least two years without significant objections
Remuneration for personnel expenses:
- Non-profit status (Art. 29 BaySchFG)
- State approval of the school in accordance with Art. 92 ff. BayEUG
Requirements for remuneration in accordance with TV-L (Art. 34a para. 1 sentence 1 no. 1 BaySchFG):
- Participation of the school authority in procedures for school-related budgeting of school expenses
- Enabling free school attendance for all pupils within the meaning of Section 2 KraSO
- Application of the regulations on the admission and dismissal of pupils applicable to corresponding public schools
- Waiver of reservation of consent pursuant to Art. 43 para. 4 sentence 2 half-sentence 2 BayEUG
- Early dismissal of a pupil only in agreement with the school supervisory authority
- Existence of the school for at least two years without significant complaints
Assignment of state teachers and other staff:
- Non-profit status (Art. 29 BaySchFG)
- State approval of the school in accordance with Art. 92 ff. BayEUG
- Application by the school authority
- Consent of the assigned staff
The written application must be submitted to the government of the administrative district in which the private school for the sick is located.
The processing of applications is the responsibility of the relevant district governments. Processing times vary depending on staffing levels and the complexity of the cases.
Allowances for personnel expenses are granted on a monthly basis.
