Meisterbonus für bestandene Meisterprüfung oder gleichgestellte Weiterbildungsprüfung; Auszahlung

In Bavaria, every successful graduate of further vocational training to become a master craftsman or a qualification classified as equivalent receives the Bavarian state government's master craftsman bonus.

Purpose

The recruitment of qualified skilled workers is one of the major social and economic challenges of the future. The Free State of Bavaria is therefore providing an incentive with the master craftsman bonus to undertake further vocational training and strengthen one's own qualifications.

Beneficiaries

The master craftsman bonus is awarded to successful graduates of master craftsman examinations or equivalent further training examinations under public law in industrial and commercial professions, in the public service sector, in the agricultural and domestic science professions, in healthcare professions as well as state further training examinations in the above-mentioned fields at technical colleges and technical academies.

Graduates of other disciplines at technical colleges and technical academies in Bavaria with state final examinations as technicians, master craftsmen, interpreters, business administrators, educators, etc. (degrees in the area of responsibility of the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs) receive a master craftsman bonus on the basis of the announcement of the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs of June 12, 2019, Ref. VI.7-BH9001.7/41/9.

Amount

The bonus has been increased to 3,000 euros.

• Confirmation of registration from the residents' registration office
• Submission of the certificate

• The qualification is listed in the annex to the guidelines for awarding the master craftsman bonus and the master craftsman prize of the Bavarian State Government (see below under "Legal basis").
• The main place of residence or place of employment is in Bavaria.
• The examination was taken before the competent technical and local authority in the Free State of Bavaria and the certificate was issued by this authority. An exception is only possible if the examination for a qualification listed in the annex to the guidelines for awarding the master craftsman bonus and the master craftsman prize of the Bavarian State Government is not offered in Bavaria. This is only the case if the examination is generally not offered in Bavaria or if it would be necessary to wait more than a year for the examination. In all other cases, graduates lose their entitlement to the master craftsman bonus if they take the examination outside Bavaria. In borderline cases or in case of doubt, you should always contact the competent authority before registering for the examination.

After passing the examination, graduates in Bavaria will be contacted by the responsible authorities, who will also make the payment, for further applications.

In order to receive the master craftsman bonus, the date on which the examination result was determined must not be more than two years ago. The date of receipt of the application by the competent authority is decisive for compliance with the deadline.
