Luftfahrtveranstaltung; Beantragung einer Genehmigung

A permit is required for public events of competitions or shows involving aircraft.

Permits are not required:

• Events that are not open to the public or outside third parties (e.g. internal aviation club meetings)
• Events at which there are no demonstrations (e.g. pure exhibitions or so-called indoor festivals at which only sightseeing flights take place)
• Events in which only model aircraft, hang gliders or paragliders take part

• Programme of the event including flight programme with time schedule
• landowner's consent
• Map at a scale of 1:25,000 and a site plan at a scale of 1:5,000 with the event site marked on it.
• further documents, if required by the approval authority

  (e.g. safety concept, expert opinion on the suitability of the event site, pilot licences of the pilots involved)

• Conclusion of an organizer's liability insurance
• Proof of liability insurance for each aircraft involved in the flight demonstration in accordance with the statutory liability regulations
• Compliance with the prescribed minimum distances between the spectator area and the runway or aerobatic sectors

The application must be submitted in duplicate to the licensing authority at least 8 weeks before the date of the event.
