Persons who are legally established as authorized certifiers for fire protection in a member state of the EU or a country with equivalent status must notify the Free State of Bavaria of the commencement of their activities before they start working there on a temporary and occasional basis.
- The following documents are required:
- Proof of identity by photocopy of identity card or passport
- Proof of sufficient insurance cover for the area of validity Germany
- In the case of activities regulated in the country of establishment of the person authorized to provide proof of fire protection:
- Proof of training and/or professional experience
- Confirmation from the competent body (authority/chamber) that the establishment as an authorized inspector for fire protection is legal and that the activity as an authorized inspector for fire protection is not prohibited, not even temporarily.
- In the case of activities not regulated in the country of establishment of the authorized inspector for fire protection:
- Proof of studies in civil engineering or a course of study with a focus on fire protection by means of photocopies of degree certificates / diplomas, certificates and diploma supplement including an overview of subjects
- Proof of practical experience of at least one year in the field of fire protection planning and execution of buildings or their inspection (project list, work certificates)
If the required certificates were not issued in German, an additional translation by a publicly appointed and sworn translator.
The list of foreign persons authorized to provide proof of fire protection is kept after notification,
- in the case of activities of fire protection certifiers regulated in the country of establishment, anyone who is established in an EU member state or equivalent country and has completed the training and/or professional experience required in that country to be authorized to issue fire protection certificates for all construction projects.
- In the case of activities not regulated in the country of establishment of the authorized fire protection certification body who
- has completed a course of study of at least 6 semesters standard period of study in civil engineering or a course of study with a focus on fire protection at a university/college in an EU member state or an equivalent state and
- after completing their studies, have been employed full-time for at least one year in an EU member state or equivalent country during the previous ten years in the practical preparation of fire protection certificates.
- Certificate of entry in the list of external authorized persons: EUR 40.00
- If the activity is prohibited: 350.00 EUR
The notification must be submitted in text form to the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers before the service is provided for the first time.
The documents are then examined by the registration committee of the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers.
The Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers issues a certificate of entry in the register for a limited period of five years, which can be extended on request.
If the requirements are not met, the preparation of fire protection certificates may be prohibited.
