Anyone who wants to take on and train apprentices in skilled trades but is not authorized to train them needs to have their professional aptitude recognized.
Anyone who is authorized to train
- who has passed the master craftsman's examination in the craft in which training is to be provided, and also
- anyone who otherwise fulfills the requirements for entry in the Register of Craftsmen and has passed Part IV of the master craftsman's examination or a trainer aptitude test.
Professional aptitude is only granted on a revocable basis. Recognition does not replace the need to provide proof of vocational and occupational training knowledge.

Costs from 50 to 500 euros. Electronic payment via online banking is possible. Information on this is provided by the relevant Chamber of Skilled Crafts.
