Bayerische Architektenversorgung grants pension benefits in old age, in the event of occupational disability and to surviving dependants. For this, it requires certain information from the new member.
The Bayerische Architektenversorgung (BArchV) is responsible for Bavaria, Lower Saxony and Rhineland-Palatinate.
It is an institution under public law with administrative autonomy and has the task of providing for its members in old age and in the event of occupational disability, as well as for the member's surviving dependants.
The pension fund is part of the statutory pension scheme and thus the first pillar of old-age provision.
Members of the Bayerische Architektenversorgung acquire their pension entitlement by paying compulsory contributions and/or voluntary additional payments.
If you belong to one of the Chambers of Architects in Bavaria, Lower Saxony or Rhineland-Palatinate, your membership of the pension fund begins on the date of your entry in the list of architects or town planners or in the list of junior members. The respective Chamber of Architects will inform the pension fund of your registration.
Data must be submitted via the membership survey form to verify compulsory membership.
Membership of the pension fund lasts for the entire duration of your membership of one of these chambers of architects. Consequently, your membership of the pension fund only ends when you are no longer a member of any of these chambers of architects. You can also terminate your membership by applying for exemption, provided that the requirements for this are met.
- Proof of membership of one of the relevant professional chambers
Data is transmitted in accordance with Art. 20 Para. 2 Sentence 1 of the Building Chamber Act (BauKaG), Art. 2 of the State Treaty between Bavaria and Lower Saxony amending the State Treaties on the Affiliation of Architects of Lower Saxony to the Bavarian Architects' Pension Scheme and Art. 1 No. 2 of the State Treaty between Bavaria and Rhineland-Palatinate amending the State Treaties on the Affiliation of Architects of Rhineland-Palatinate to the Bavarian Architects' Pension Scheme.
- Compulsory or junior membership of one of the chambers of architects in Bavaria, Lower Saxony or Rhineland-Palatinate
- No occupational disability
After registration in the list of architects or urban planners or junior list, the membership data is transmitted by the professional chamber to the BArchV.
At the beginning of membership in the BArchV, the new member must complete the survey form and send it to the BArchV. The completed survey form (see under "Forms") can be sent by post or electronically (see under "Online procedure").
The survey form is required for further information relevant to membership, such as the amount of income subject to contributions, possible participation in the SEPA direct debit procedure, affiliation to another pension fund in the profession.
The member then receives a membership notification from the BArchV by post.
