Ordinance on responsibilities for vocational training in accordance with the Vocational Training Act, the Crafts Code, the Trainer Aptitude Ordinance and the Vocational Qualifications Assessment Act in the state of Brandenburg (Vocational Training Responsibility Ordinance - BBiZ).
The texts of the laws and regulations are available on the Brandenburg state law portal.
If you would like to work in the justice system in Brandenburg, you can have the equivalence of a professional qualification acquired abroad established with a profession in the Brandenburg justice system.
If you would like to work in the judiciary in Brandenburg, you can have the equivalence of a professional qualification acquired abroad with a profession in the Brandenburg judiciary determined. This does not apply to the recognition of fully legal professions. For this purpose, an application for an equivalence test for admission to the legal preparatory service with European qualifications (§ 112a DRiG) or an application for determination of an equivalent professional qualification and aptitude test for the admission of European lawyers to the bar (§§ 16 ff. EuRAG) must be submitted.
This application must be submitted by the person who wishes to have a professional qualification recognized. Professional qualifications are qualifications that can be proven by training certificates, certificates of competence or relevant professional experience acquired in Germany or abroad.
For recognition purposes, the competent authority checks whether the foreign qualification is equivalent to a German qualification on the basis of your certificates. This check is based on defined formal criteria, such as the content and duration of the training. Relevant professional experience is also taken into account.
Most professions in the justice system require extensive knowledge of German law, which often cannot be acquired as part of vocational training completed abroad.
If you would like to find out more about training opportunities in the Brandenburg judiciary, you can find further information on the homepage of the Ministry of Justice of the State of Brandenburg or on the career portal of the State of Brandenburg.
The following documents must be enclosed with the application:
- a tabular list of the training courses completed and the gainful employment exercised in German,
- proof of identity,
- evidence of training acquired abroad,
- Proof of relevant professional experience or other certificates of qualification, if these are required to establish equivalence,
- an informal declaration as to whether and to which body an application for determination of equivalence has already been submitted, and
any notification issued by another country.
There are two basic requirements for submitting an application:
- You have completed training abroad. You can provide documentary evidence of this training.
