Are you carrying out deep drilling or other earthworks? In certain cases, the authorities may require you to stop or remove the excavation despite having previously obtained permission.
Drilling work that reaches so deep into the ground that it can affect the movement or composition of the groundwater is referred to as earth excavation from a water law perspective.
If you carry out a so-called earth excavation, the competent authority can order you to stop or remove it.
The order can apply to planned ground excavations that have already been reported to the authority as well as unintentional groundwater tapping.
The water authority responsible for your project is determined by the location of the planned drilling points.
- A detrimental change to the groundwater is to be feared or has already occurred as a result of the excavation.
- The damage cannot be avoided in any other way.
