If you want to catch eels for commercial purposes, you must report this to the higher fishing authority.

• If you wish to catch eels for commercial purposes, you must first notify the upper fisheries authority and register.
• The upper fisheries authority records the details of persons who catch eels for commercial purposes in a register and assigns them a registration number.

• You notify the upper fisheries authority of your eel fishing activity before you start fishing.
• You state whether you are fishing as a main or secondary occupation, in which area you are fishing and when you will start eel fishing.
• Registration takes place after you have submitted the application to the higher fisheries authority.
• You will receive a registration number.

If the details subsequently change or if you cease eel fishing (deletion of a professional fisherman as an eel fisherman), this must be reported to the higher fisheries authority immediately.
