Monument registration and thus the determination of the monument status of an object forms the indispensable basis for the work and preservation of a monument.
The monuments protected under the Monument Protection Act are recorded in a list of monuments.
Entries in the list of monuments are made ex officio.
Entries can be initiated by third parties, e.g. owners.
The inclusion of a monument in this list is declaratory, i.e. a monument is already protected before it is listed there because it meets the criteria of the Monument Protection Act. The register is therefore kept on a "news" basis.
In order for an object, a building or an area to be included in the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg, the monument value must be checked by the Brandenburg State Office for the Preservation of Monuments and the State Archaeological Museum.
You have the opportunity to initiate such an examination and to provide the State Office with appropriate information. If the requirements are met, the object will be included in the list of monuments and the lower monument protection authorities will be informed of the result. The lower monument protection authorities then inform the owners.
The list of monuments is maintained by the monument authority.
Entries can be initiated by third parties (e.g. owners).
Entries are made ex officio.
The lower monument protection authority receives the list of monuments for its area.
The list of monuments must contain at least the following information about the monument:
- the name of the monument and information about the place;
in the case of monuments consisting of several structures and garden monuments, the boundary shall be indicated on a map of the appropriate scale; - the description of the monument and the designation of the scope of protection, and
- the main reasons for registration.
- Information about the monument Recording
- Entry in the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg is made exclusively ex officio.
- Third parties – including owners – can encourage the examination of the value of the monument and provide information.
- Types of monuments: architectural and ground monuments, garden monuments, technical monuments, movable monuments.
- Worthy of protection is given if there is a public interest in preservation due to the historical, artistic, scientific, technical, folkloristic or urban significance.
- After a new registration of a building and ground monument, the lower monument protection authorities are notified; these notify the owners.
