Municipal guideline on the granting of a welcome allowance for students and trainees

Voluntary payment by municipalities to trainees and students per semester or half-year.

Welcome allowance is a voluntary payment by the municipalities for trainees and students who register during their training or study period with their main residence or sole residence at the place of training or study.

• identity card or passport,
• Student:
  • Certificate of enrolment for the first application, student ID card or certificate of enrolment for the current semester for subsequent applications
• Trainee:
  • in the case of school-based vocational training: school certificate for the current half-year of training
  • in the case of dual vocational training: certificate from the training company in which it is assured that the respective trainee completes his/her training in the respective training semester in the training company located in the municipality

The date of registration of the main or sole residence in the city must not be more than three months before the start of the training/studies.

The deadlines are for the 1st half year/semester 01.03. - 30.06. and for the 2nd training half-year/semester 01.09. - 31.12. of the respective year.

The welcome money is considered own income.
