- § Section 123 of the Brandenburg School Act (BbgSchulG)
- § 8 and § 9 Substitute School Approval Ordinance - ESGAV
State recognition gives the alternative school the right to hold examinations and issue certificates such as the Abitur itself.
The Ministry responsible for schools may grant the status of a recognized alternative school to an approved alternative school which offers the guarantee that it will continue to meet the requirements for approval without significant objections.
Recognized alternative schools are obliged to comply with the provisions applicable to corresponding schools under public sponsorship when admitting and transferring pupils, acquiring qualifications and conducting examinations, unless the school authority has made other arrangements with the consent of the ministry responsible for schools. Pupils of recognized alternative schools may transfer to public schools of the same type without prior entrance examination; the provisions applicable to public schools shall apply accordingly. Certificates and transfer decisions of the recognized alternative schools and the qualifications obtained there shall have the same validity as those of the corresponding public schools.
The following documents must be enclosed with the application:
- an overview of the development of pupil numbers and the development of the teaching staff and the number and content of teacher training courses since the opening of the school,
- proof of the implementation of the approved timetables for the respective course of education, in the case of vocational courses including the implementation of the internship requirements,
- a report on the results of the non-pupil examinations to date,
- a report on the development of the school premises and the material equipment, including teaching materials and
- a self-evaluation on the status of the development of the pedagogical concept, insofar as deviations from the regulations of a corresponding school in public sponsorship or a special pedagogical concept have been approved.
Guarantee that the approval requirements are continuously met without significant objections
