Association of landowners for the joint management of their forest areas in a forestry cooperative (FBG)

Forestry cooperatives (FBG) are private-law associations of landowners. In particular, they have the purpose of compensating for the disadvantages of small land size in management and various structural deficiencies in the management of their forest areas. In order to better differentiate between the FBG and the type of management, the FBG in Brandenburg is referred to as a forest association and a forest community. They differ according to the objectives or tasks set out in the statutes. The forest association is characterized by a parcel-specific management according to area and owner, the properties affiliated to the forest association must be findable in nature. In a forest community, joint cross-border management of the total area is carried out.

• Informal application for recognition and conferral of legal capacity

• Original articles of association adopted, dated and signed by all members of the Board of Directors

• If applicable, application for exemption from fees

• The FBG must be a legal entity under private law and should comply with the provisions of the law on associations.
• An FBG is recognised by the highest forestry authority.

• According to § 20 of the Fees Act for the State of Brandenburg, an application for exemption from fees may be submitted on the grounds of special public interest.

• Submission of an informal written application for recognition and granting of legal capacity to the highest forestry authority of the country.
• All required documents must be attached in full.
