Admission to the educational programs for in-depth general education and vocational orientation, vocational preparation or to the educational programs of the vocational school for the acquisition of basic vocational training and equivalent lower secondary level qualifications.
Young people with a vocational training contract are registered at vocational schools by their training company. Young people in pre-vocational measures are registered at the OSZ by the provider of the measure.
Young people who are required to attend vocational school but do not have a training contract and have not been accepted into a school-based course of education or a pre-vocational measure register independently at the OSZ responsible for their place of residence by September 1 (basic vocational school).
In the educational courses for in-depth general education and for vocational orientation, vocational preparation or vocational training preparation, pupils are taught vocational orientation or vocational preparation and basic general education content. The courses generally last one school year.
Pupils who are required to attend vocational school and who are unable to attend a vocational school course complete their compulsory vocational schooling in the one-year course at the vocational school for basic vocational training and equivalent lower secondary level qualifications (BFS-G).
Pupils who are required to attend vocational school, who are unable to attend a vocational school course and do not have sufficient German language skills, fulfill their compulsory vocational schooling in the two-year vocational school course for the acquisition of basic vocational training and equivalent lower secondary level qualifications (BFS-G-Plus).
