If you can provide evidence of the necessary requirements, you can submit an application for inclusion in the list of persons authorized to provide building certification.

On the basis of the Brandenburg Building Code of 19.05.2016 - published in the Law and Ordinance Gazette for the State of Brandenburg No. 14 of 20.05.2016 - compliance with the requirements for stability, fire, noise and vibration protection must be verified under certain conditions (Section 66 (1) BbgBO - structural engineering verifications). As a rule, the authorization to submit building documents in accordance with § 65 Para. 2 No. 1, 2 and 4 includes the authorization to prepare the structural engineering certificates. By way of derogation from this, however, for the construction projects specified in Section 66 (2), both the proof of stability and the proof of fire protection must be prepared by a person who fulfills the requirements specified in Section 66 (2) and is entered in the corresponding list. The lists for registering the authorization to provide evidence for structural design and fire protection are kept jointly by the Brandenburg Chamber of Architects and the Brandenburg Chamber of Engineers in accordance with Section 66 (5) BbgBO. Since 01.10.2002, proof of stability including the fire resistance duration of load-bearing components, preventive fire protection, sound and heat insulation as well as proof of energy generation systems must be prepared by persons authorized to do so (authorized verifiers) or certified by experts after checking for compliance with the requirements of this law or on the basis of this law. These certificates are no longer checked by the building inspectorate.

Authorizedcertifiers are persons, in particular architects and civil engineers, who are entered in the special lists of authorized certifiers on the basis of their professional experience and references. Registration must be applied for in writing together with the necessary evidence.

The application for entry in the list of structural engineers must be accompanied by the following documents:

• Certificate of completion of a degree in structural engineering or civil engineering,
• Documentation of practical experience in the field of structural engineering of at least three years,
• Reference list with own structural designs,
• three structural designs drawn up by the applicant,
• Police clearance certificate (not older than 6 months),
• curriculum vitae in tabular form.

The following documents must be enclosed with the application for registration as a fire protection planner:

• Certified copy of the certificate of the engineering degree
• (certified) copy of the certificate
• Curriculum vitae / professional career, confirmation of employment in the field of fire protection if applicable
• Proof of professional liability insurance (not older than 3 months, minimum cover number §10 BgbIngG)
• Proof of specialist knowledge of:
  • According to the application form
  • Three selected fire protection concepts for building class 4.5 or special buildings

If you are a member of another chamber of engineers or architects:

• Proof of membership by means of a current certificate
• Proof of building design authorization, if applicable
• If applicable, fire protection-specific training / further training certificates

The requirements for entry in the list of structural engineers are

• a professionally qualifying university degree in architecture, structural engineering or civil engineering

• at least three years of professional experience in structural design
  Prerequisites for entry in the list of fire protection planners are

• Engineering training in the field of structural engineering or adequate
• or / and fire protection-specific training such as expert for fire protection, master's degree in fire protection, specialist planner for fire protection, bachelor's degree in hazard prevention
• At least two years of practical experience in the field of fire protection planning and execution of buildings or their inspection of at least building class 4 or special buildings

Fee for chamber members for first-time registration as an authorized person or person authorized to provide evidence: EUR 150

Registration fee without chamber membership: EUR 500

Registration is by written application.

• The application will be processed by the registration committee (which may provide explanations or requests for additional documents).
• You will then receive a notification from the registration committee by post.
