If you meet the necessary requirements as a civil engineer, you can apply for inclusion in the list of those authorised to provide structural evidence as a qualified structural engineer.

Upon request, the list of structural engineers must be entered if they meet the requirements prescribed in § 66 of the Brandenburg Building Code.

The application shall be accompanied by the documents necessary to assess the conditions for registration. A decision on the application must be taken within three months of the submission of the complete documents; the time limit may be reasonably extended once if this is justified by the difficulty of the matter. The application shall be deemed to have been approved if a decision has not been taken within the time limit.

Engineers who are established in another member state of the European Union or in a country treated as such under the law of the European Community for the purpose of preparing stability certificates are entitled to prepare stability certificates in accordance with Section 65 (4) to (6) of the Brandenburg Building Code without being entered in the list if they meet the requirements prescribed in Section 66 of the Brandenburg Building Code.

A citizen of a Member State of the European Union or of a state treated as such under the law of the European Community shall be entered in the register of external structural engineers, to whom the Brandenburg Chamber of Engineers has certified upon application that he or she meets the requirements prescribed by § 66 of the Brandenburg Building Code.

The application for entry in the list of structural engineers must be accompanied by the following documents:

• Certificate of completion of a degree in building construction or civil engineering,
• documents on practical work in the field of structural engineering of at least three years,
• Reference list with own structural designs,
• three self-developed structural plans,
• police clearance certificate (not older than 6 months),
• Curriculum vitae in tabular form.

Requirements for entry in the list of structural engineers and structural engineers are:

• university degree qualifying for a profession in the field of architecture, building construction or civil engineering,
• at least three years of professional experience in structural engineering.

Fee for members of the Chamber when registering for the first time as a person entitled to provide evidence or persons entitled to provide evidence: EUR 150

Registration fee without chamber membership: 500 EUR

Registration shall be made upon written request.

• Submit the application to the Brandenburg Chamber of Engineers.
• The application will be processed by the registration committee (which may provide explanations or requests for the subsequent submission of documents).
• You will then receive a notification from the registration committee by post.
