Urban development measures are urban redevelopment measures in clearly defined development areas in towns and villages in accordance with §§ 165 ff. of the Special Urban Development Law of the German Building Code (BauGB). They must be in the public interest and of particular importance for the development of the municipality.
The procedure for an urban development measure corresponds approximately to the procedure for urban redevelopment, with a few important differences. Accordingly, Section 169 BauGB also refers to urban redevelopment in accordance with Section 136 et seq. BauGB. In particular, the provisions on preparation, implementation, land law, agents, etc. pursuant to sections 136 et seq. of the Building Code.
