Child and youth welfare services are largelyprovided byindependent organizations. These include large organizations such as the German Red Cross, the Workers' Samaritan Federation, the Workers' Welfare Association, the Diakonisches Werk or Caritas, but also smaller associations. They are involved, for example, in child day care, youth work/youth social work or offer educational services outside the family. The local youth welfare offices cooperate with the independent providers as part of the overall planning responsibility of the youth welfare office and coordinate their services locally.
Independent youth welfare organizations seeking state-wide recognition must apply to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MBJS). This recognition in accordance with § 75 of the Eighth Book of the Social Code - Child and Youth Welfare must be applied for at the MBJS.
For regional recognition, please contact the responsible district or independent city
