Guideline of the BMAS for the labour market programme " Refugee Integration Measures " of 20 July 2016
In recent years, a large number of people have come to Germany to seek protection from persecution and violence and to apply for asylum. In the coming years, it is to be expected that people will come to us to live here temporarily or permanently and to become part of our society. It often takes months from entry to the decision on recognition. This waiting period, which is often spent in an initial reception centre or other collective accommodation, is to be bridged by meaningful employment oriented towards the common good. Refugees are to be introduced to the labour market by means of low-threshold offers in job opportunities. The participants can get to know the basic rules of social life in our country and also acquire language skills. At the same time, they contribute to the common good. In addition, the knowledge gained in the job opportunities about the skills and knowledge of the participants can later be used for further measures for integration or employment promotion.
FIM stands for refugee integration measures. These are job opportunities for refugees within the framework of the labour market programme "Refugee Integration Measures" transferred to the Federal Employment Agency (BA), which are created by municipalities, state or non-profit organisations and financed by federal funds.
