Approval of network operation

If you intend to operate an energy supply network, you will require approval from the competent authority under state law.

• Information on the network (acquisition, construction of a new network, investments, network capacity, presentation of the network),
• Information on the customers whose supply is to be included,
• Information on the gas/electricity purchases of the customers,
• Proof of the legal form of the company (extract from the commercial register, articles of association),
• Documents on personnel and technical capacity (organization chart with number of employees and their qualifications), technical equipment (see VDN guideline S-1000 or DVGW worksheet G 1000), submission of contracts with subcontractors,
• Submission of a profit and loss forecast (investments and depreciation, capital and financial plan, operating expenses, profit and loss account),
• Documents on economic performance (proof of equity, shareholdings in the company, most recent profit and loss account).

You have the

• the personnel, technical and economic capacity and
• reliability,

to guarantee the long-term operation of the grid in accordance with the statutory regulations.

The application must be submitted in writing to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy of the State of Brandenburg.

A decision on approval must be made no later than six months after the complete application documents have been submitted.

The application should be submitted in good time before the intended start of operation of an energy supply network (usually several months in advance).

Anyone wishing to operate an energy supply network requires a permit.
