Trainees must issue a written certificate to the trainees at the end of the vocational training relationship. The electronic form is excluded.
The certificate must contain information on the type, duration and objective of the vocational training as well as on the acquired professional skills, knowledge and abilities of the trainees.
Examination certificates are important documents. They are required, for example, for applications and for pension calculation. Nevertheless, it can happen that examination certificates are lost. As a rule, the body responsible for the examination in question (e.g. chamber) issues a duplicate for an administrative fee.
An administrative fee is usually charged for issuing a duplicate of an examination certificate. After checking the data, you will receive a fee notice. As soon as this has been paid, the duplicate will be sent by post. Certificates for submission to the German Pension Insurance (e.g. proof of training periods) are free of charge.
If no independent jurisdiction has been determined by ordinance, please contact the chamber responsible for your vocational training. This can be, for example:
the Chamber of Crafts for vocational training in occupations covered by the Crafts Code,
- the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for vocational training in non-craft trades,
- the Chamber of Agriculture for vocational training in agricultural and rural home economics occupations,
- the Chamber of Lawyers, Patent Attorneys and Notaries as well as the Notarial Fund for the vocational training of specialists in the field of administration of justice,
- the Chamber of Auditors and the Chamber of Tax Consultants for the vocational training of specialists in the field of auditing and tax consulting,
- the Chamber of Doctors, Dentists, Veterinarians and Pharmacists for the vocational training of specialists in the health professions.
Further responsibilities, e.g. for bodies under public law as well as for churches and other religious communities, are regulated in the Vocational Training Act (BBiG).
