Media centres and image centres support the school authority with regard to the supply of schools, day-care centres and other educational institutions with suitable media and appropriate equipment. They advise on their use and train teachers and multipliers in youth and adult education in media education and media technology.

The focus is on imparting basic knowledge of video and sound production, handling of the technology, camera work and image design as well as the active application of the theory taught.

Media centres and image centres provide an extensive range of various media with the necessary rights of use and equipment and offer a corresponding technical service. Media centres run by the state, municipal or church follow a non-profit educational mission.

Preconditions:
Affiliation with schools (teachers), authorities, non-profit or registered associations, extracurricular educational institutions, parishes, as well as institutions of youth and adult education. The loan to private individuals is subject to the borrowing conditions of the respective institution.

Proof of eligibility may be required.
