Vaccination is one of the most important measures to prevent diseases. For example, some diseases no longer occur or only very rarely, as the majority of people have been vaccinated.

Before vaccines are approved, efficacy and safety must be proven in studies. After that, the independent Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) examines to whom the vaccination is recommended in Germany and when it should be administered most sensibly. The individual consultation by your doctor or the competent authority is based on these recommendations.

The responsibility lies with the doctor, the district and the independent city. In addition to advice, they also offer free vaccinations.
