The establishment of the civil partnership is certified with a civil partnership certificate . Special conditions apply to the certification of civil partnerships established abroad .
Documents are required. These depend, for example, on the marital status of the partners or whether there are children. Please contact the competent authority.

Since August 2001, it has been possible in Germany for two same-sex partners to establish a civil partnership.
