In Lower Saxony, school holidays comprise a total of 75 working days for a 6-day week and 63 working days for a 5-day week.
The summer holidays are determined by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs. The competent authority shall decide on the determination of the remaining holidays on its own responsibility.
In Lower Saxony there are autumn holidays, Christmas holidays, half-year holidays, Easter holidays, Whitsun holidays and summer holidays as well as possibly two bridging days (before 1 May and after Ascension Day).
