An important part of continuing education is educational leave.
Employees in Lower Saxony are generally entitled to five days of paid leave per year to participate in educational events in accordance with the Lower Saxony Educational Leave Act. Trainees and persons in a similar position as well as employees in workshops for the disabled also have the same entitlement.
The prerequisite for claiming educational leave is that the educational event has been recognised by the competent authority.
The responsibility lies with the Agency for Adult and Continuing Education.
