One focus of spatial observation is the population development of the country. In addition, valuable information is available on the current and future development of the population according to regional breakdown.
The tasks of spatial observation are the inventory of spatial development in Lower Saxony and the identification of development trends. In addition to taking stock, regional planning policy draws attention to possible aberrations and new developments.
The responsibility lies with the Lower Saxony Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Consumer Protection and Regional Development.
