As part of a simple population register information, you will receive from the competent authority

• Surname
• Forenames
• Doctoral degree and
• Current addresses

to the person you are looking for. If the person is deceased, you will be informed.

Whether the competent authority provides you with information about the data of the person sought is at their dutiful discretion. The simple information from the population register is not provided if an information block is entered in the population register or if the competent authority has reason to believe that this may result in a danger to the interests of the person concerned or another person worthy of protection.

• The person you are looking for must be clearly identifiable on the basis of your information. This means that you must already have data on the person concerned. These are usually the first and last name, the date of birth, the gender or the last known address.
• If you use the data for commercial purposes, you must provide it.
• When making the request, you must declare that you will not use the data for advertising or address trading purposes or that the data subject has given his or her consent.
• If you send the request to the competent authority for the purposes of advertising or address trading and the competent authority does not have consent, you must declare to the competent authority that you have your consent.
• The competent authority may require you to provide the consent of the data subject.
• There must be no information block in the population register.

Fees are charged in accordance with Annex 1 to § 1 paragraph 1 of the General Fee Schedule of the State of Lower Saxony (AllGO) in accordance with No. 63.

Fee: at least EUR 9.00

The fee is calculated according to the time spent.

The full administrative fee is also due if there are no registration documents (or no longer) available from the requested person or if no person can be clearly assigned with the information provided by the inquirer or if the content of the information provided is already known.

Deadlines may have to be observed. Please contact the competent authority.

The information will be refused if there is a blocking of information or a conditional blocking notice for the person sought.

Upon personal or written request, you will receive information on the surname, first name, doctoral degree and current addresses of individual residents of the area.

The responsibility lies with the municipality, the joint municipality and the city in which the person for whom a simple population register information is to be obtained is resident.
