If you would like to apply for employment in the preparatory service or in the teaching service, you will need recognition of your degree or career qualification for the corresponding teaching profession, provided that these were not acquired in Lower Saxony.

With the recognition and determination of the equivalence of your teacher training degree or your career qualification from another federal state, you can apply for employment in the preparatory service or in the school service in Lower Saxony on an equal footing.

If you would like to be employed in the preparatory service, you have completed a teacher training course in another federal state with the First State Examination or .dem Master of Education.

If you want to be hired as a teacher, you have successfully completed your preparatory service in another federal state.

The recognition of the equivalence of a degree obtained in another federal state with the Lower Saxony bachelor's and master's degree for the corresponding teaching profession or a teaching qualification acquired in another federal state with the Lower Saxony career qualification for the corresponding teaching profession is made as part of the application procedure for recruitment to the preparatory service or school service. A separate application for a determination of the equivalence of the teacher training examination or the teaching qualification is not required.
