If you are responsible for radiation protection, you must inform the authority about the appointment and dismissal of radiation protection officers. The same applies if the scope of duties or the powers of the appointed radiation protection officer change.

If, as the person responsible for radiation protection, you appoint a radiation protection officer, you must inform the competent authority immediately.

The notification must be accompanied by evidence of the required expertise of the appointed radiation protection officer. The notification must also specify the duties and powers of the radiation protection officer as well as the information on the internal decision-making area.

If the duties or powers of the appointed radiation protection officer change or if the appointed radiation protection officer resigns and you appoint a new radiation protection officer, you must also inform the competent authority of this.

The application can be submitted online or in paper form.

• Proof of the established tasks and powers or their modification
• Certificate of the required expertise in radiation protection and, if applicable, updates

• The notification must be accompanied by the relevant supporting documents.
• Only persons may be appointed as radiation protection officers for whom there are no facts from which doubts arise as to their reliability and who have the necessary expertise in radiation protection.

No payment will be made in the notification procedure. Payment shall be made by the notifier by bank transfer, only after receipt of the confirmation including the fee notice.

• With the help of the form available online, you inform the authority of the appointment or dismissal of a radiation protection officer. You send a copy of your notification to your works council or staff council.
• The authority will check your information and the requirements. If necessary, your notification will be confirmed, and in any case you will be notified of the administrative fee.

The notification must be submitted to the authority without delay.

The information on legal remedies can be found in the decision of the competent authority.
