As the provider of an independent alternative school or an independent supplementary school, you can receive financial assistance for independent schools under certain conditions.

You can apply for financial aid as a substitute school or independent supplementary school in the form of a subsidy towards running costs.

The regulations for alternative schools can be found in § 149 ff. of the NSchG and for supplementary schools in § 161 para. 3 sentence 4 of the NSchG.

The amount of financial aid depends, among other things, on your pupil numbers, your teaching provision and your social security costs.

The type of school or course of education must be recognized or it must be a substitute school of particular educational importance.

In order to receive the grant, you must apply for financial assistance from the Regional State Office for Schools and Education in Lüneburg (RLSB-LG).

The RLSB-LG will check that the application documents are complete and, if all requirements are met, will grant the state subsidy.

The claim must be made for each school year within a cut-off period of one year after the end of the school year. The application for settlement must therefore be received by 31.07. of the year following the school year.
