You must notify us before you are allowed to set off pyrotechnic articles. You can use this service if the intended pyrotechnic articles are of category F2, F3, F4, P1, P2, T1 or T2. In the vicinity of buildings or installations that are particularly sensitive to fire, pyrotechnic articles may only be set off at a sufficient distance and taking into account the direction of the wind. The burning of pyrotechnic articles in the immediate vicinity of churches, hospitals, kindergartens and retirement homes as well as particularly fire-sensitive buildings or installations is prohibited. Please note that a charge can only be made under certain conditions.

You need:
a valid permit in accordance with § 7 (commercial) or § 27 (non-commercial) of the Explosives Act or
a valid certificate of competence in accordance with § 20 of the Explosives Act or
an exemption permit in accordance with Section 24 (1) of the Explosives Act.
The following information must be provided in the notification or the following documents must be attached:
Personal details of those responsible
Location, type and size as well as start and end of the fireworks display
Distances to particularly fire-sensitive buildings and facilities
the safety measures, in particular barriers and other precautions to protect the neighborhood and the general public.
No churches, hospitals, retirement and nursing homes, particularly fire-sensitive buildings or facilities may be located in the immediate vicinity of the fireworks.

Fee framework:
As a rule, no fees are charged for a notification; in certain cases, however, fees may be charged in accordance with AllGO No. 29.5 "Fees in other cases of official action, examination or investigation not mentioned in Nos. 29.1 to 29.4 according to time spent, but not less than EUR 30 and not more than EUR 600".

The following notification deadlines apply:
Notification period of 2 weeks before burning applies to pyrotechnic articles of the
Category F2 in the period from 02.01. to 20.12.
Categories F3, F4, P1, P2, T1 and T2 all year round
Notification period of 4 weeks before setting off pyrotechnic articles in the immediate vicinity of railroad installations, airports or federal waterways that are shipping lanes.
The notification period of 2 weeks prior to burning applies to pyrotechnic articles of the
Category F2 in the period from 02.01. to 20.12.
Categories F3, F4, P1, P2, T1 and T2 all year round
