  • The state of Lower Saxony awards annual scholarships for innovative musical compositions. The scholarship is intended to provide young freelance artists with the financial means to increase their artistic activity over a period of up to one year. There is also the opportunity to spend part of the funding period (one to two months) in the Martin Kausche studios in Worpswede.
  1. Scope of the grant
  • The amount of the grant can be between 3,000 euros and 12,000 euros.
  1. General information
  • Applications must be received by February 28 of the respective year. In addition to a biography, materials on current artistic work must be enclosed. The planned artistic projects must be outlined.

Erforderliche Unterlagen

  • A table summarizing the submitted recordings and lead sheets/scores

Voraussetzungen

  • Eligible to apply are artists who have their residence/production location in Lower Saxony and who have not yet reached the age of 40 or, for those with severe disabilities, the age of 45 by December 31 of the previous year. An exception to the age limit is also made if the completion of artistic training was no more than five years ago at the time of application.
  • Artistic training must have been completed at the time of application.
  • A scholarship will not be awarded if the applicant receives regular benefits from third parties (e.g. residence or work grants) or state funding during the scholarship period.
  • In the event of funding, the applicant agrees to present the results of the planned project at an event financed by the state's cultural funding, provided that the form and content of the project permit this. The applicant is not entitled to participate in such an event.

  • Sign the printed application form and send it to the approval authority (MWK) without attachments.
  • As soon as the application deadline has expired, the submitted applications will be checked for formal and technical requirements.
  • A notice of approval or rejection will follow.
