- Go to the website of your local Chamber of Skilled Crafts or to the service portal of your federal state and select the correct online service.
- The online service will guide you through the application step by step.
- You can submit the required documents digitally.
Written application
- Go to the website of your local Chamber of Skilled Crafts.
- Download the application forms for a license to practice.
- Complete the forms in full and send them to your local Chamber of Skilled Crafts together with the required proof of your professional and training qualifications.
- Your application and proof will be checked by the Chamber of Skilled Crafts.
- The Chamber of Skilled Crafts will decide on your application and inform you accordingly.
If the decision is positive, you can be entered in the Register of Craftsmen for a craft requiring a license.
You can only exercise a craft requiring a license if you are entered in the register of craftsmen. A license to practice must therefore be applied for in good time
In Lower Saxony, the legal remedy procedure applies, as there is no longer any provision for a preliminary administrative procedure.
