Beendigung einer angezeigten vorübergehenden Tätigkeit als Dolmetscherin/Dolmetscher und/oder Übersetzerin/Übersetzer

If you terminate a notified temporary activity as a sworn interpreter or authorized translator prematurely, you must notify the Hanover Regional Court.

The general swearing-in of interpreters and the authorization of translators to translate for judicial, official and notarial purposes for the territory of the state of Lower Saxony is carried out upon application to the Regional Court of Hanover.

If you only wish to work temporarily and occasionally in Lower Saxony and your place of residence is

- in another member state of the European Union,

- in a signatory state to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or

- in a country to which the member states of the European Union are obliged under treaty law to treat its nationals equally with regard to the recognition of professional qualifications (country of establishment),

you can, under certain conditions, be included in the list of generally sworn interpreters and authorized translators for a period of one year upon application and exercise the activity during this time with the same rights and obligations that apply to sworn interpreters and authorized translators in Lower Saxony. The temporary activity can be extended by one year upon application.

If you end your temporary activity in Lower Saxony before the end of the specified period, you must notify the Hanover Regional Court. The original of the certificate of swearing-in as an interpreter and/or authorization as a translator must be returned to the Regional Court of Hanover.

Return of the original certificate or document issued by the Regional Court of Hanover concerning the swearing-in as interpreter and/or authorization as translator.

There are no requirements to be met.

The Regional Court of Hanover processes the notified termination of the activity and deletes the entry in the register of sworn interpreters and authorized translators.

The notified termination of the activity will be processed immediately.

The Hanover Regional Court must be notified of the termination of the activity immediately after the end of the exercise.

No legal remedy, as only the deletion of an entry in the register of sworn interpreters and/or authorized translators is carried out.

• The original certificate of swearing-in as an interpreter and/or translator must be returned immediately after notification of termination.
• Notification of termination and deletion from the register of interpreters and translators is free of charge.
