Have you acquired a professional qualification abroad? Would you like to work in the judiciary in Lower Saxony? With this application you can have the equivalence of a professional qualification acquired abroad with a profession in the judiciary in Lower Saxony determined. This does not apply to the recognition of fully legal professions. For this, an application for an equivalence test for admission to the legal preparatory service with European qualifications must be submitted.

This application is aimed at people who wish to work in the Lower Saxony judiciary in the following professions:

  • Judicial constable
  • Judicial clerk in the constable service / judicial clerk in the constable service
  • Judicial clerk (Justizfachangestellter / Justizfachangestellter)
  • Judicial specialist
  • Correctional specialist
  • Court bailiff
  • Public prosecutor
  • Diplom-Verwaltungswirtin / Diplom-Verwaltungswirtin (in the prison service)
  • Other profession

This is based on the Lower Saxony Act on the Assessment of the Equivalence of Professional Qualifications Acquired Abroad (NBQFG).

As a precautionary measure, please note that most professions in the justice system require extensive knowledge of German law, which often cannot be acquired as part of vocational training completed abroad.

Erforderliche Unterlagen

  • Proof of identity
  • List of training courses completed and gainful employment performed in German, including duration and content
  • Proof of training acquired abroad
  • German translation of the training certificate by a publicly appointed or sworn interpreter
  • Possibly proof of relevant professional experience or other certificates of competence
  • German translation of the certificates of qualification by a publicly appointed or sworn interpreter.

Voraussetzungen

There are two basic requirements for submitting an application:

  • You have completed training abroad. You can provide documentary evidence of this training.
  • You want to work in the judicial sector in Lower Saxony.
