If you want to set up a forestry association and use subsidies, you must have it recognized by the competent authority.

A forestry association is an association under private law of recognized forestry communities, forestry associations or forestry cooperatives. The aim of the forestry association is to adapt forestry production and the sale of forestry products to the requirements of the market.

To this end, only the following tasks may be assumed by the forestry association:

• Informing and advising members and participating in forestry framework planning
• Coordination of sales,
• Preparation and storage of products in line with market requirements
• Marketing of the members' products
• Procurement and use of machinery and equipment
  

• Informal application for recognition of a forestry association

• Description of the size of the area to be managed

The following requirements must be met for recognition as a forestry association:

• It must be a legal entity under private law;
• It must be suitable for working towards the sustainable adaptation of forestry production and the sale of forestry products;
• Its articles of association or partnership agreement must contain provisions on

• It must allow significant competition to exist on the timber market.

Once you have submitted the application and the required documents, your documents will be checked for completeness and plausibility. If no deficiencies are found, you will then receive a notification of approval.

An action against the decision may be brought before the Hanover Administrative Court within one month of notification, either in writing, for the record of the clerk of this court or in accordance with the Lower Saxony Regulation on Electronic Legal Transactions in the Judiciary (Nds. ERVVO-Justiz), as amended, by submitting electronic documents.
