If you operate a medium-sized combustion plant, you must report it to the competent authority.

As an operator of a combustion plant (medium-sized combustion plant, gas turbine and combustion engine plant) with a combustion heat output of at least 1 MW and less than 50 MW, you are obliged to notify the competent authority of the intended operation in writing or electronically before commissioning. The operation of an existing combustion plant must be notified in writing or electronically to the competent authority by 1 December 2023. The notification must contain the information specified in Appendix 1 of the 44th BImSchV. The competent authority shall include the installation in its register of installations. You will be informed of the registration by the competent authority.

Display with the relevant data for the system:

1. Thermal output of the combustion plant (in megawatts);
2. type of combustion plant (diesel engine system, gas turbine, dual-fuel engine system, other engine system, other combustion plant);
3. the type of fuels used and their share of total energy input;
4. date of commissioning of the combustion plant;
5. the NACE code to which the further activity is to be assigned,
6. the estimated number of annual operating hours of the combustion plant and the average operating load;
7. in the case of a regulation for installations with a few hours of operation, a declaration signed by the operator stating that the combustion plant will not be in operation for more than the number of hours referred to in those paragraphs;
8. if an emergency operation scheme is used: a declaration signed by the operator stating that the combustion plant will only operate in the event of an emergency;
9. the name and place of business of the operator and the location of the facility with address;
10. Geographical coordinates of the chimney and height above terrain.

There are no costs.

The notification must be submitted in writing by post or electronically to the competent authority.

The notification must be submitted before a new system is put into operation. The operation of an existing plant must be notified by 1 December 2023.

This administrative service does not constitute an administrative act. For this reason, there is no legal remedy.
