This measure promotes cooperation between stakeholders in agriculture and nature conservation. The aim is to improve the understanding and acceptance of nature and environmental protection measures and the effectiveness of the environmental and nature conservation funding instruments used.
The aim of the funding is to improve cooperation between various actors in rural areas, in particular agriculture and nature conservation. These include, for example: Farmers, municipalities, associations and/or nature conservation associations as well as water and soil associations, actors from the food chain and forestry. This is intended to contribute to the preservation of biological diversity in the cultural landscape. This includes, in particular, areas of the agricultural landscape that are of great importance for nature conservation and are important for the objectives of Natura 2000. These include, for example, species-rich grassland, sand and moor heaths as well as orchards.
In addition, the cooperation of the various cooperation partners is intended to strengthen the effectiveness and acceptance of other nature conservation and agri-environmental measures.
Funding is provided for the establishment of networks, nature conservation stations, grazing agencies, etc., landscape management and nature conservation facilities as well as the development of cooperative approaches for the management of protected areas or protected area systems.
The following measures will be supported:
- creation of new networks and expansion of existing ones for the joint implementation of projects,
- Management of cooperation for the implementation of nature conservation-related projects and concepts for nature conservation and agri-environmental measures,
- Development of regional concepts and practical guidelines to improve the effectiveness of nature conservation and agri-environmental measures,
- Project development, preparation and updating of studies or development concepts, especially in Natura 2000 areas and other areas of particular importance for biodiversity,
- Communication, cooperation and interaction processes to promote the acceptance of nature conservation and agri-environmental measures,
- Public presentation of the funded cooperative projects or concepts for the promotion of biodiversity in the cultural landscape and for the preservation of rural natural heritage.
Eligible applicants are:
- Local authorities and public bodies
- Foundations, nature conservation associations, sponsors of nature parks
- Clubs and special-purpose associations
- Agricultural and forestry enterprises, landscape conservation facilities,
- Real associations and hunting cooperatives, water and soil associations
- Other legal entities
The actors involved in the project must regulate their cooperation in a binding contract. The merger must involve at least two partners or actors from the agricultural, forestry or food chain, as well as stakeholders from nature conservation.
Applicant institutions should be regionally anchored and have expertise and experience in the subject areas mentioned here as well as in advising or cooperating with local actors. Furthermore, a statement from the responsible lower nature conservation authority must be submitted when submitting the application.
No further application procedure will be offered for this funding measure in the current EU funding period, as the funds have already been fully committed.
