If you are admitted to an accommodation establishment, you must register with the competent authority as soon as the stay exceeds six months.

If you do not have an apartment within Germany, you must register after only three months.

There are no fees.

You must register within 2 weeks as soon as your stay exceeds six or three months.

In the case of persons under 16 years of age, care must be taken to ensure that they are registered by the persons in whose home they move in.

In accordance with § 29 paragraphs 2 and 3 and § 30 of the Federal Registration Act (BMG), special registration forms for accommodation facilities are used for short stays typical in practice.

If you are admitted to an accommodation facility, you must register as soon as the stay exceeds six months.

The responsibility lies with the municipality, the Joint Community and the city in whose jurisdiction the accommodation facility is located.
