Your child is in fourth grade? Then you have to deal with the half-year report for the further education of your child. For this purpose, it is best to take advantage of the counselling services for the transition from primary school to secondary school.

During the transition from primary to secondary school, parents receive a wide range of counselling services:

• Recommendation of the primary school for the semester of grade 4 for further school attendance in the orientation level
• Advice from the primary school class teacher, e.g. in the context of teacher-parent-student discussions
• Information events and open days for secondary schools

The half-year report of the fourth school year must be submitted.

The prerequisite is the successful completion of primary school.

A recommendation to a Gymnasium can only be made if in the subjects

• German
• Mathematics
• Social studies

at least the grade 3 has been achieved. In the other subjects, at least the grade 3 should be achieved.

The school career recommendations of the primary school are issued together with the half-year reports of grade 4. The teacher-parent-student talks also take place during the semester of grade 4.

The dates of the information sessions of the secondary schools are announced by the primary schools or the local media.

You must register your child with the school you have chosen from 15 February until the end of February each year.

Pupils in the fourth grade receive a written recommendation for further education with the half-year report. In addition, the parents receive a consultation on this.

Counselling in primary school is offered by the respective class teacher. For advice requests in secondary schools, the respective school management is the contact person.
