The aim of nature conservation and landscape management is to preserve and develop the landscape with its diversity and character, its habitats and its habitats for animal and plant species.
The range of tasks includes, in particular, measures to protect, maintain, restore and create near-natural habitats and habitats for native animal and plant species. In Rhineland-Palatinate, nature conservation and landscape management measures are preferably carried out in protected areas.
The state promotes the implementation of landscape conservation measures through appropriately designed programs and compensation measures. The implementation of the various measures is preferably carried out by the respective landowners and land users, usually farmers.

Landscape conservation supports the preservation of native animal and plant species, particularly in protected areas. Projects are funded by the state. Compensation measures are also eligible.
