The ambulance service is responsible for emergency and patient transportation. In emergencies, dial 112.
The rescue service is responsible for carrying out life-saving measures in the case of life-threatening injuries or illnesses (emergency patients), restoring their fitness for transportation and transporting them to a suitable hospital under professional care, usually by ambulance or emergency ambulance and possibly by rescue helicopter.
They also provide professional assistance to sick, injured or other persons in need of help who are not emergency patients and transport them under supervision, usually in ambulances.
In addition to the local aid organizations, the following state offices provide further information:
- Ministry of the Interior and Sport
- Supervisory and Service Directorate
- Rhineland-Palatinate Fire Service and Disaster Control School
In emergencies, please dial 112.
All control centers can also be reached via the service number 19222 (e.g. for ambulance transports).
In addition, you can contact the relevant district administrations for questions regarding the rescue service or ambulance transport.
