As an apprentice, you can be admitted to the journeyman's examination before the end of your training period.
The purpose of the journeyman's examination is to determine whether you have acquired the professional ability to act. The examination is usually taken at the end of your training period.
The chairperson of the examination board will decide whether your performance justifies early admission. If the admission requirements are found not to be met, the examination board will decide in the second instance.
- Application form
- Last vocational school certificate(s) issued
- Intermediate examination certificate
- Confirmation from the training company that the trainee has performed above average so far and that all knowledge and skills can be imparted to him/her by the early date of the final examination
- written statement from the vocational school on the trainee's performance level
- Proof of participation in the prescribed inter-company instruction courses
- prescribed report booklets/training certificates
- above-average grades on the last vocational school report with confirmation from the vocational school
- above-average performance in the training company with confirmation from the training company
- all knowledge and skills can be imparted to you by the early date of the journeyman's examination/confirmation by the training company

As the examinee, complete the application and submit it together with the required documents.
The application and documents will be checked for completeness.
The chairperson of the examination board decides on admission. In the event of non-admission, the examination board decides in the second instance.
You will then be informed of your admission and, if applicable, your examination date. You will receive a notification.
You must submit your application in good time, taking into account the respective examination deadlines.
Trainees must be released from work to take examinations. The trainee's training allowance will continue to be paid for the period of leave of absence.
People with disabilities should indicate their special needs when registering for the final examination so that these can be taken into account when the final examination is conducted.
Trainees who have taken parental leave must not be disadvantaged by this when deciding on admission.
