Schulformwechsel in die Realschule beantragen

If your child attends a grammar school and would like to switch to a Realschule plus, this is possible under certain conditions.

As a rule, it is possible for your child to voluntarily transfer from a Gymnasium to a Realschule plus in grades 7 to 9 at the end of each school term, in special cases also at a different time. In grade 10, a change is only possible in special cases and only at the end of the school semester.

Registration at a Realschule plus after prior attendance at a Gymnasium is possible without any special requirements. Please inquire at the Realschule plus which documents are required for the admission decision in each individual case.

Registration at the Realschule plus is possible at any time. Your child is entitled to be admitted to a Realschule plus that can be reached from your place of residence. This does not have to be the Realschule plus you want, as the admission capacities of the Realschule plus must be taken into account. The school management decides which grade level, class and courses your child can be admitted to.

The change to Realschule plus usually takes place at the beginning of the half-year. As a rule, after six weeks, the class conference decides whether the performance shown by the pupil so far justifies remaining in the provisionally attended grade level and the courses.

The admission decision is usually made within a few days.  

Since the change is usually only possible during the two school semesters, you should register at the Realschule plus in good time.

If there is a change to Realschule plus and your child has to catch up on learning content in the school-specific elective subjects, the performance in these subjects will not be graded in the next certificate.

In the event of refusal of admission, an objection procedure is admissible.
