If you want to drive a passenger car up to 3,500 kilograms, you must apply for a class B driver's license.
With the class B driver's license, you can drive motor vehicles (motor vehicles) with a maximum permissible mass of 3.5 tons. The motor vehicle must also be designed for no more than eight people (in addition to the person driving).
You can transport trailers weighing less than 750 kilograms with a Class B driver's license. If the total mass of the vehicle combination is not more than 3.5 tons, the trailer may also weigh more than 750 kilograms.
The class B driver's license is issued for an unlimited period of time.

- You must be in possession of a driving license class.
- You must have your main residence in the Federal Republic of Germany.
- The minimum age is 18 years. You can apply for the extension of your driver's license at the earliest 6 months before reaching the minimum age.
- The fee is based on the Fee Regulations for Road Traffic Measures (GebOSt).
- If the driver's license is sent directly to the home address, an additional shipping fee will be charged.
You will receive your first driver's license on probation. The probationary period lasts 2 years.
