If a carer has been appointed for you, you can be exempted from the obligation to have an identity card. Your guardian can arrange for you to be exempted from the ID card requirement. To do this, contact the relevant identity card authority.
If a caregiver has been appointed for you on a permanent basis, you can be exempted from the obligation to have an identity card.
You can revoke an existing exemption from the ID card requirement at any time. All you need to do is apply for an identity card or passport.

- You must be at least 16 years old.

You must apply in writing for exemption from the ID card requirement.

- You send the application and the documents to the relevant ID card authority in your municipality/city or

- The authority will issue you with a permanent certificate stating that you are exempt from the ID card requirement
